Terms of Use

Short version: use the site, read the writing, book a call if it feels right. Do not copy my work and pass it off as yours. What we do together is support, not therapy or medical care.

What this site is

The Unreleased Artist is run by me, Daniel J. Ryder. Everything here is offered in good faith to help music creatives who have been doing this alone.

What the work is, and is not

I am a trained professional and executive coach. The 1:1 work is a thinking partnership. We go beneath the surface of what is in the way, we build the plan, and I stay with you until it is finished.

It is not therapy, counselling, or mental health treatment, and I am not a licensed therapist or physician. If you are in crisis or dealing with something that needs clinical care, please talk to a doctor or a licensed professional. The two are not in competition and plenty of people do both.

I cannot and do not promise a particular outcome. I cannot promise you will finish the album, sign the deal, open the studio, or make a living from this. What you get is my full attention, honest reflection, a real plan, and someone genuinely alongside the work. What you do with that is yours.

Bookings and sessions

The discovery call is free and carries no obligation on either side. For ongoing work, terms of scheduling, payment, cancellation, and rescheduling are agreed directly between us before we start, and those terms are what govern our work together.

I work with a small number of people at any one time, so I may not be able to take you on. If that happens I will tell you honestly rather than string it out.

The Inner Circle

The Inner Circle runs on Patreon and is subject to Patreon's own terms as well as these. Membership, billing, and cancellation are handled through your Patreon account.

My work

The writing, audio, exercises, and material on this site and in the Inner Circle are mine. Use them for your own work freely. Quote them with credit freely. Do not republish them as your own, resell them, or feed them into a product without asking me first.

Your confidentiality, and its limits

What you tell me in a session stays between us. The only exceptions are the ones the law requires of anyone: a genuine risk of serious harm to you or someone else, or a court ordering me to disclose. Nothing you share becomes marketing material without you saying yes first.

Links out

This site links to Patreon, Calendly, Zoom, and social platforms. Once you are there you are on their terms and their policies, not mine.

Liability

The site and its content are provided as they are. To the extent the law allows, I am not liable for decisions you make based on what you read here. You are an adult and your choices are your own. Nothing here limits any liability that cannot legally be limited.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States.

Changes

If these change, I will change this page and update the date at the top.
